MIAMI, FLORIDA – RAD Technology, a cutting-edge provider of unique rapid deployment and relocatable high-energy radiation containment systems, turnkey facilities for cancer treatment, and other medical, industrial and security applications, announced today that Dr. John C. Ford, a 32-year veteran of the industry, will join the company as president and CEO effective immediately. Dr. Ford succeeds Eric Landau, a founder and outgoing president and CEO of RAD Technology, who will continue to hold a senior position at the company and become president of RAD Technology Ventures, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RAD Technology which provides strategic planning, acquisition and development services.

Dr. Ford is a recognized authority in the use of particle accelerators and high energy radiation systems. Before joining RAD Technology, he was with Varian Medical Systems where he was instrumental in growing the company’s international business, establishing the company as the largest international supplier of radiotherapy equipment. Most recently, Dr. Ford served as Varian’s most senior corporate vice president and officer. He also held positions as Varian’s president of international marketing, vice president of business development, senior vice president of Varian Oncology Systems and senior scientist.

“Dr. Ford is a great leader who understands the strategic advancement of new technology and customer relationship management," said Eric Landau. "He will bring the energy, enthusiasm and technical expertise to continue to build on the success of the RAD Technology team. Under Dr. Ford’s leadership, we hope to reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering the highest professional and practical solutions that our customers need to succeed," said Landau. “His passion, vision and creativity will be an asset and value to our customers.”

Dr. Ford was responsible for some of Varian’s most successful product concepts and business strategies, and identified and spearheaded key acquisitions. He was a visionary in the development of new treatment technology such as Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Image Guided Radiotherapy, two major breakthroughs in the radiation treatment of cancer. Dr. Ford lead a similar transformation of the industrial and security business, making Varian the leading supplier of linear accelerators for these applications.

“Dr. Ford’s expertise in the field of radiation shielding applications will be significant for RAD Technology as the company continues to develop this state-of-the-art technology. We are excited about the company’s future with him at the helm,” said Landau.
